Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu held a Video-Conference with various District officials in regard to Neeru - Meeru Program. Ministers of various Departments also participated in the Conferance.
Technical snags in various Power projects including at Eastern Grid and other Rayalaseema and problems with distributed power from Chattisgardh has brought a deficit of 550 MW. This could result in power in the state. However, Electricity Department Authorities have made it clear that they will be continuing power distribution for the state and situation will come to normal in 3 to 4 days time.
CLP Leader Sri Y S Rajasekhar Reddy met with Ms. Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi to tell her the situation in the state. He also met with Mrs. Ambika Sonia and told her about the Farmer and Weaver sector problem in the state.
The 4th General Meetings of Andhra Pradesh Rythi-Coolie Sadhassu will begin at Hyderabad tomorrow. Leaders at the meet said that the Central and State Governments policies are in a anti-farmer way.
Three Naxals belonging to Guerrilla Army of Peoples War Group were killed in an encounter in Gandgopalpur in Adilabad district. Heavy ammunition including Light Machine Guns, AK-47 rifles etc. were recovered from them.
Mr. PDS Satyapala, a part time lecturer of Andhra University was taken into Police Custody for his theft of over 3000 books from the University Library and Dr VS Krishna Memorial Library.
The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) will be holding its annual meet at Philadelphia from June 29. This was announced by its President Mr. Gangadhar Nadela.
A Fake naxal who was actually an employee of a Naval establishment was arrested by the Visakhapatnam Police. The 'Naxal' used to threaten people by writing letters to them and extract money.
