He said that the Government of Andhra Pradesh will be working to develop Basic structure of the Mining industry and encourages participation of Private Sector. He also said that the Government will take all steps for development of Mining as an Industry and that the state will write to the Center in regard to this. He also promised that Mining will be a part of the Governments Vision 2020 Programme. A jail undertrail escapes from Chittor Sub Jail today. President of World Bank Mr. Wolfensohn visits Golconda Health Center in Hyderabad. He witnessed a Presentation on AIDS by Women and expressed satisfaction of the World Bank Programmes in the area. The President of the World Bank has also agreed to provide Rs. 200o Crore Rupees for funds for the removal of poverty and improvement of Health and Medical aid in the state. Central Minister for Petrol, Sri. Ram Naik inaugurated the new GAIL Gas pipe line in E.Godavari. He laster was met by Chief Minister Sri Chandrababu Naidu who requested the Govt. to review the hike in Oil and Petroleum prices. Mr. Ram Naik however said that the price control was now entirely with the OPEC Council. He also said that the Central Govt. will review and work for the development of Krishna & Godavari basins for oil excavation purposes. State Minister for Power Sri. K Subba Raidu said that the State Governement has been sticking to its word and is indeed supply power for 9 hrs every day for the Agricultural sector. Speaking at a Press Conferance, he said that the statements by the Opposition were entirely wrong. He however admitted that there were some problems in the production at the Ramagundam Thermal Power Project for the last two days. |
