vCurrent Mobile is Red Bend's patented FOTA update client software. It wirelessly updates firmware of handsets that are already in consumers' hands. Moreover, this solution equips a fail-safe function that ensures safe update completion even if power is turned off during the update. vCurrent Mobile is interoperable with device management (DM) servers compliant with standards from the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA). vDirect Mobile, a DM client that is also interoperable with standards-based DM servers, enables operators and manufacturers to easily provision new subscribers and configure applications and network settings.
According to market research firm Ovum, Red Bend has 57% market share of FOTA-enabled handsets that are shipped worldwide. Red Bend's MSM solutions have been deployed by seven of the top 10 mobile phone manufacturers, including LG Electronics, Motorola, Sharp, Sony Ericson, NEC and Toshiba. Besides mobile handsets, Red Bend's MSM products are deployed in mobile broadband PC cards, WiMAX and USB modems, and machine-to-machine (M2M) wireless modules.
