The award was given based on Dr. Harding's continued research in ''energy saving standards'' technology in solar energy.

Mr. Harding is a Doctor of the Australian Scientific Academy of Engineering, who has outstanding achievements in solar energy technology. In 2006, after he was engaged as the chief scientific consultant of Sunrain Group, he researched ''energy saving standards'' technology in solar energy, making solar water heaters with good thermal absorption and preservation performance.
