SINGAPORE, July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Asian Paper 2008, held during April 23- 25, was a big success with a very large and active crowd of 5,019 trade visitors from an amazing 67 countries attending the show. In surveys conducted by the organizers, trade visitors, conference delegates and exhibitors of supplies and equipment all expressed a high level of satisfaction with Asian Paper 2008. All were also very happy with the new venue this year, the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in downtown Bangkok which is easier to reach from downtown hotels.

The 212 exhibiting companies covered a floor space that was 20% larger compared to Asian Paper 2006. The show floor was quite busy for most of the three days as business meetings and serious discussions between buyers and sellers were being held on the show floor.

The conferences attracted a large number of attendees, with 150 senior level delegates participating at the Senior Management Symposium (SMS) and 161 technical and operating professionals taking part in the New Applied Technology (NAT) conference.

The organizers cooperated closely with the Thai Pulp & Paper Industries Association (TPPIA) to promote the event to pulp and paper makers across the industry. Besides the TPPIA, numerous other Asian paper associations including the Asian Institute of Technology; Taiwan Paper Industry Association; Malaysia Pulp & Paper Manufacturers Association; Korea Paper Industry Cooperative; Indonesia Pulp & Paper Association; Indian Paper Manufacturers Association; Federation of Paper Traders' Associations of India; India Agro & Recycled Paper Mills Association and the Vietnam Pulp & Paper Association supported the event and played a key role in its success.

Asian Paper is Asia's most complete event for the paper business, including the exhibition, the high level management symposium and the technical sessions. The next edition, Asian Paper 2010 will be held on 21-23 April 2010 in Bangkok. The venue for 2010 will again be the conveniently-located Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in downtown Bangkok.
