LOS ANGELES, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Asia Society Southern California's Annual Gala Dinner on Tuesday evening, May 20, 2008, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles will honor Bill Gross (of PIMCO) for his service to our community. Also featured will be David Bonderman, a Founding Partner of Texas Pacific Group (TPG). Host for the evening is Donald Tang, Vice Chairman of Bear Stearns and Chairman of Asia Society Southern California.
A highlight of the evening will be a candid and unscripted conversation between Bill Gross and David Bonderman exploring the growing economic interdependence of Asia and the United States. Donald Tang, who brings a unique perspective as a Chinese-born American citizen equally at home on Wall Street, in Beijing, or Abu Dhabi, will moderate the conversation.
At PIMCO Bill Gross oversees the management of over $800 billion of fixed income securities. Widely regarded as the world's top fixed-income manager, Bill Gross is the author of numerous articles on the bond market and has frequently appeared in national publications and media.
David Bonderman's TPG and its affiliates have more than $48 billion of capital under management. TPG is regarded as one of the biggest and most successful private equity funds in the world.
