Subsidiary Guangdong Mobile to deploy Amdocs OSS; first OSS win for Amdocs in China
ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Today at Management World, Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, announced that China Mobile's subsidiary Guangdong Mobile (GMCC) has selected Amdocs Operational Support Systems (OSS). Guangdong Mobile (GMCC) is one of China Mobile's largest operating companies and has more than 60 million subscribers. Guangdong Mobile's selection of Amdocs OSS marks the first time that it has selected a commercial-off-the-shelf OSS product to manage its complex network inventory requirements.
China Mobile is one of the world's largest mobile phone operators with more than 415 million subscribers. Of its 31 operating companies, GMCC is among the largest and contributes to 25 percent of China Mobile's group revenue. GMCC will deploy Amdocs OSS to gain an accurate view of its network resources to manage them more effectively. With increased visibility into its networks, GMCC can identify its network issues and resolve them quickly with minimal impact to subscribers.
"GMCC needs to provide a high quality service to our increasingly more sophisticated subscribers," said Xin Duan, project manager of GMCC. "Amdocs OSS will enable us to consolidate valuable network information onto a single system to get the most value out of our network assets, and deliver a more consistent experience to our customers."
