Tata Interactive's Business Games and Simulations set to Transform Corporate Training in India

MUMBAI, India, June 20 /PRNewswire/ --

- Tata Interactive Systems (TIS) Partners With International Simulation and Gaming Association (ISAGA) to Showcase Business Games and Simulations.

Global e-learning provider, Tata Interactive Systems announced its newly formed partnership with the International Simulation and Gaming Association to promote the use of gaming and simulations in India Inc.'s business acumen skill development.

The present focus of the partnership is an event, the 5th International Summer School in Gaming Simulation, where Dr. Willy Kriz -- Professor for Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior and Gaming Simulation Methods at The University of Applied Sciences Vorarlberg, and TIS will conduct a workshop for the design and development of simulations for socio economic systems. This workshop will be attended by international and Indian participants and will be held at the Institute of Integrated Learning in Management (IILM), Gurgaon from June 21-30, 2008.

Dr. Kriz notes, "Our aim is to bring together experts, professionals, and students from different areas of Gaming Simulation. After several successful events across Europe, the ISAGA will be hosted in India for the first time this year. Through the strong support of TIS and IILM, we are sure to provide a fruitful and professional Summer School and support the foundation of IndSAGA to encourage building networks of Gaming Simulation experts in India."

TIS will also be conducting a workshop using the TOPSIM(R) platform, which simulates business processes in all their complexity. TOPSIM(R), a German company acquired by TIS a few years ago, is a world leader in the range of off-the-shelf and custom simulations. TIS plans to fly down a German facilitator to conduct the workshop, and participant teams will have the opportunity to experience a few cycles of the TOPSIM(R) simulation - typically TOPSIM(R) simulations are played out over a period of 2-5 days.

According to Rupesh Goel, Practice Head - Simulations at TIS, "More than just skill development, simulations and gaming are fully immersive, real-life experiences. Their impact is intense and enduring; it is not surprising that corporations worldwide have taken to simulations in a big way, and learners are embracing them eagerly because of the high engagement levels they evoke to impart real acumen in risk free surroundings. In terms of maturity, Indian companies are now set for the next level of learning, and as pioneers of e-learning and simulation design, TIS has taken the first step by partnering with ISAGA to bring this goal closer. It will be a beneficial partnership for all the stakeholders, including the International Simulation and Gaming Association - ISAGA and the Institute for Integrated learning in Management (IILM) India, who are also contributing to this event."

The workshop is designed for corporations looking to be a part of the simulation revolution, as well professors and students seeking a career in business modeling. Adds Rupesh, "Business games and simulations are set to revolutionize the way India Inc. looks at developing business acumen skills."
