Shoot On Sight Film to Screen at Cannes Festival by American World Pictures

New York, United States

Shoot On Sight, a film produced by Aron Govil under the banner Cine Boutique Entertainment and directed by Jag Mundhra, will be screened at the prestigious Cannes Film festival on May 14, 2008 by American World Pictures.

American World pictures, based in USA, has been appointed as the exclusive world wide sales agent for Shoot On Sight by Producer Aron Govil. American World Pictures, founded in 1993, is a Los Angeles based independent motion picture distribution and production company which has a prolific high-profile in the international marketplace.

Shoot On Sight is a political thriller that unfolds the turmoil in the life of Tariq Ali, a Muslim police officer at Scotland Yard. Commander Ali, born in Lahore, Pakistan and married to an English woman, is tasked to investigate the police shooting of a suspected Muslim terrorist in the London Underground. Distrusted by both his superiors in the police, and his fellow Muslims, he finds his inquiry hampered from all sides. When evidence surfaces pointing to the slain man's innocence, as well as the existence of a terrorist cell operating in his own backyard, Tariq must face the realization that sometimes, the right decision is the hardest one to make. The film highlights the dilemma of a cosmopolitan society, especially London, which is gripped by the fear of Islamic extremism, racial profiling and Islamophobia during the aftermath of underground bombings in July 2005.

The film was entirely shot in London during summer of 2007. The film star cast includes Naseeruddin Shah, Brian Cox, Greta Scacchi, Om Puri, Stephen Greif, Ralph Ineson, Sadie frost, Gulshan Grover, Laila Rouass, Mikaal Zulfiqar and India Wadsworth. Background score is provided by John Altman. Shoot On Sight is expected to release world-wide in June 2008.
