GT Solar Incorporated, a global provider of equipment, services and technology solutions to the solar power industry, announced four key executive appointments as the company expands its executive team in response to increasing global demand for solar power, and to manage the company's continuing growth.
Robert W. Woodbury, Jr. joins the company as Chief Financial Officer, with over twenty five years of experience in financial management with multi-national, publicly held companies in technology-based industries. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Woodbury served as Executive VP and CFO of Brooks Automation (NASDAQ: BRKS), an automation technologies manufacturer supplying the semiconductor capital equipment market. While there, he led major initiatives to restructure the company, improve cash flow effectiveness, and improve operational efficiencies - efforts that included both acquisitions and divestitures. Mr. Woodbury holds a B.A. in Economics from St. Anselm College and a MBA degree from the University of Miami.
Edwin L. Lewis has assumed the role of Vice President and General Counsel, bringing a long history of management and legal experience as general counsel with technology-based manufacturing companies. He comes to GT Solar from Photronics, Inc., (NASDAQ: PLAB), a leading manufacturer of photo masks for the semiconductor and flat panel display industries, and American Science and Engineering, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASEI), an international manufacturer of X-ray detection systems for protection of ports, borders and high security government facilities. Mr. Lewis is a member of the Legal Advisory Board of the National Federation of Independent Business Legal Foundation in Washington, D.C.
Brian Logue joins GT Solar as Vice President, Human Resources. Mr. Logue brings over twenty years of global human resources experience within the technology sector and will be responsible for the formulation and implementation of GT Solar's human resource strategy and related initiatives worldwide. Prior to joining GT Solar, he was founder and principal of Highstreet Advisors, Inc. a human resources consulting firm providing strategic human resources solutions to emerging technology companies throughout the US and Canada. Mr. Logue holds a B.S. in Business Management from Rhode Island College.
Rick Tattersfield has become GT Solar's Vice President of Global Operations and responsible for overall manufacturing, logistics, supply chain and quality. Prior to GT Solar, he was VP of Quality and Technical Services for Instron, a division of ITW Corp (NYSE: ITW) - an international and diversified manufacturing company specializing in scientific instruments. Mr. Tattersfield previously held roles at ITW as Vice President of Operations for Instron Dynamic System's division and as Vice President of Operations and joint-General Manager of Instron Schenck Testing based in Darmstadt, Germany. He is a graduate of the Royal Navy Engineering College (UK), Cranfield Institute of Technology (UK), and the MIT-Sloan School's Greater Boston Executive Education Program.
