Celestix(TM) Releases New CLB4000(TM) Load Balancer Appliance

Fremont, California, United States

Celestix Networks announced the launch of the company's new CLB4000(TM) load balancer appliance. Celestix is introducing the CLB 4000 for network professionals who want to deploy advanced load balancing capabilities for IP-based server applications on easy-to-use appliances, or, to add a layer of high availability to their networks.

CLB4000 appliances offer several load balancing methods to distribute network traffic across servers. These methods include simple weighted round-robin, random, client address hashing and "least resource" based on agent-supplied information. Using a built-in intelligent health-check engine that monitors the health of all the servers in the load balancing pool, CLB4000 appliances switch traffic seamlessly among servers when a spike in traffic warrants intervention or when a server fails.

The CLB4000 is the first load balancer to use the Celestix COSMOS(TM) Linux-based appliance engine integrated with Celestix' high-performance Scorpio-X(TM) hardware platform. Celestix proprietary technology delivers advanced load balancing capabilities in an easy-to-use, low-cost appliance form factor. Celestix offers CLB4000 appliances at the list price of US$ 4,999. Celestix is accepting orders and began shipping CLB4000 appliances on September 3rd, 2007.

CLB4000 load balancers are the latest addition to Celestix' product lines for network security and optimization that include their MSA(TM) ISA Server 2006 firewall appliances and WSA(TM) IAG SSL/VPNs that have become the leading sellers in the Microsoft security appliance sector.

Ravi Lingarkar, CEO of Celestix, said of the new product: "With so much on the line, large enterprises must manage network traffic to achieve excellent service levels with high reliability. The CLB4000 lets large enterprises achieve these goals on a low-cost appliance form factor that minimizes the complexity and risk for deployment and administration."

"We are very excited about the addition of the CLB4000 to the Celestix product lineup," stated Dirck T. Schou Jr., President of Vesper Networks, a national solution provider. "As a trusted advisor to our customers, it is very important that we provide seamless and manageable tools. The Celestix family of intelligent load balancers greatly improves scalability and access in any network. And, when paired with their MSA and WSA line of security appliances, Celestix ensures cross-compatibility and a single point of support -- a killer combination that our customers will love."

Celestix delivers thousands of security appliances to both mid-market organizations and enterprises annually. Founded in 1999, Celestix Networks features offices in Fremont, California, Singapore, Reading, UK and Chennai, India. In addition, Celestix has significant presences throughout the United States and Japan to supplement its channel business.
