IMERYS Pigments for Paper Europe to Increase UK Filler Kaolin Prices

Brussels, Belgium

IMERYS Pigments for Paper Europe will raise UK Filler Kaolin prices by an average of 3% for its pigments for paper product lines effective December 1, 2007 as contracts allow.

Significant cost pressures in chemicals, mining, fuel, and power are key drivers for the announced price increase. The moderate level of this increase is a consequence of Imerys' recent investment to create a sustainable UK filler kaolin platform for the future.

Notes to editors:

IMERYS Pigments for Paper is a world leading producer of white pigments, manufacturing kaolin, ground calcium carbonate (GCC) and precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC). The business group serves the needs of the international paper industry and employs 2,846 people, operates 44 industrial sites in 19 countries and represents 23% of Imerys' overall revenue.
