Las Vegas, United States
Procuri(R), the leading global provider of On Demand Supply Management solutions, and Tactica, an Asia-based low-cost-country sourcing (LCCS) consulting company, today announced a strategic partnership to deliver solutions and services for companies implementing strategic sourcing projects in Asia.
Under the partnership, Tactica will act as a channel partner for Procuri's leading On Demand supply management solutions in the Asia region and will provide sourcing training and LCCS consulting services to Procuri customers who are based or have operations based in Asia. The partnership agreement expands and complements Procuri's current marketing, sales and services efforts. Tactica's consultants work hand-in-hand with buying organizations to implement optimum sourcing strategies, while helping companies reduce procurement costs. The company also offers supplier discovery, qualification, sourcing, and management services in China and other Asia-Pac regions to Procuri's multi-national customers.
According to the January 2007 report from The Economist Intelligence Unit, CEO Briefing: Corporate priorities for 2007 and beyond, 60 percent of respondents believe the Asia-Pacific region offers the greatest sourcing opportunities and nearly half of the respondents said they will pump most new investments into Asia. However, the increasing weight of emerging markets brings several challenges, including more complex risk management. Tactica helps mitigate risk involved with emerging markets with market knowledge for supplier discovery and management.
Partnership Already Yielding Early Successes
Tactica has already helped a number of Procuri's multi-national companies identify, train, and manage suppliers in key Asian sourcing hot spots, such as China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, and the Philippines. In the past few months, Tactica has also signed several new customer agreements with China-based companies for Procuri's strategic sourcing solution, TotalSource, including Chiaphua, Measurement Specialties, and Starlight International Holdings. Procuri TotalSource automates and streamlines the complete strategic sourcing lifecycle - from initial project management and requirements development to a wide range of online negotiation methods (e.g., e-RFx, reverse auctions, sealed bids, flexible, bidding etc.), and advanced optimization and award analysis.
Measurement Specialties Inc. Deploys Procuri TotalSource
Measurement Specialties Inc., (NASDAQ: MEAS), a global designer and manufacturer of sensors and pressure transmitters, will utilize Procuri TotalSource and Tactica's consulting services to reduce their yearly spend of more than $80 million dollars through supplier and spend aggregation. The company will also use the solution to source direct materials including stampings, cables, wires, printed circuit boards, and plastics.
"With our China operations currently manufacturing approximately 60 percent of Measurement specialties' global end sales, we needed a solution provider that could help us in deploying a globally feasible and usable solution," said Vicente Piedrahita, director of Global Sourcing for Measurement Specialties. "After conducting a thorough market evaluation, Procuri's solutions, combined with Tactica's services, give us the perfect combination of industry leading technology and low-cost-country sourcing expertise."
"With globalization, outsourcing and pressures to reduce costs, LCCS has become a standard procedure for most enterprises," said Mark F. Morel, Procuri's president and CEO. "Procuri realizes the importance of having a strategic partner in this rapidly growing market to help companies adopt Supply Management solutions for successfully achieving their LCCS initiatives. Tactica has the knowledge, resources and expertise to ensure this and we are glad to have them as part of our strategic partner network."
