Charlotte to Host Premiere of Film Foundry's Second Feature Film 'The Ultimate Gift'

Abigail Breslin will be in town March 7 for the premiere of "The Ultimate Gift," the second feature film to be produced by Charlotte's Film Foundry. On March 9, the movie will be released in 800 theatres across the US.

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) March 5, 2007 -- The red carpet will once again roll out for Oscar-nominee Abigail Breslin - but this time in Charlotte. Breslin was the youngest nominee at the Academy Awards held in Hollywood this week. Next stop: Charlotte.

Breslin will be in town March 7 for the premiere of " The Ultimate Gift ", the second feature film to be produced by Charlotte's Film Foundry. On March 9, the movie will be released in 800 theatres across the US.

Besides Breslin, the film boasts an impressive cast that includes television and silver screen legend James Garner, as well as Bill Cobbs, Brian Dennehy, Ali Hillis, Lee Meriwether, and Drew Fuller.
As if a great cast wasn't enough, the "The Ultimate Gift" is based on the best-selling novel by Jim Stovall which has sold over 3 million copies. Jim Stovall is the founder of the Narrative Television Network which makes television and movies accessible to the blind and visually impaired. He has also been an Olympic weightlifter, successful stock broker and motivational speaker. Most agree that the overwhelming response to the book - and now the movie - is due to its inspiring themes.

When his wealthy grandfather dies, trust fund baby Jason Stevens anticipates a big inheritance. Instead, his grandfather has devised a crash course on life with twelve tasks - or "gifts" - designed to challenge Jason in improbable ways, sending him on a journey of self-discovery and forcing him to determine what is most important in life: money or happiness.

Lead funding for the film was offered by the Stanford Financial Group, a Houston-based wealth management company. "We look for innovative and nontraditional ways to improve communities and enhance lives, and what better way to send such an inspirational message than through a feature film playing in communities across the nation," comments R. Allen Stanford, Chairman and CEO, Stanford Financial Group. Since last month, over 300 screenings of the movie have been held across the US to raise funds for charitable organizations and initiatives.

Media opportunities will be available between 10:30am and 1pm at the Hampton Inn near Phillips Place. At that time, there will be interview opportunities with the film director Michael O. Sajbel, screenplay writer Cheryl McKay , author Jim Stovall, Film Foundry President and producer Rick Eldridge, as well as cast members including Bill Cobbs, Lee Meriwether and Ali Hillis. Brief comments may be taken from Abigail Breslin on the red carpet. Questions or special arrangements for media should be directed to President of aro Chuck Robbins at 704.839.3520.

Prior to the 7:30pm premiere event at Phillips Place Cinema, guests will hear brief comments from Eldridge, Stovall and others.
