New internet website allows job seekers to anonymously email former/current employees of a prospective employer before jumping aboard a new company.
Malvern, PA (PRWeb) March 31, 2007 -- Peekface.com, an internet company that cost $1,000 to create, announced a new forum for users to post comments and rate their companies. Not only is
www.Peekface.com a forum to praise or vent about a company, it also allows job seekers or any other interested persons the ability to anonymously email a current/former employee of a particular company of interest.
"Peekface.com was created to give the job seeker the ability to connect and communicate with a former/current employee of a company of interest", says Moses Yoon, the founder of Peekface.com. "Often times, when a job seeker is interviewing at a company, he/she doesn't know anybody who actually works there. The only contact is through the HR or the interviewer. If the job seeker does know somebody working at the company like a friend or family member, more relevant questions may be asked by the job seeker. Peekface.com bridges the gap allowing job seekers to anonymously contact a former/current employee to get the inside scoop on a company."
Back in 2005, Moses was in the process of searching for a new company. "During the interview, I asked if they were profitable, and they mentioned to me that they were not able to answer that question," replied Moses. "I also asked about the general culture of the company and if I would need to travel - of course they mentioned only the positives about the company culture and that there would be minimal travel for my position." As it turned out, Moses realized that the corporate culture was not quite what he was told, especially with in-house management discord. Additionally, Moses was required to travel cross country, attending client visits and living inside a hotel for a period of time.
"I realized more and more that what was told to me in the interview was totally un-true," Moses said. "There was nobody else that I could talk to during the interview phase - no friend or contact. I didn't know anybody at the company to ask the real, relevant questions that was important to me." Moses eventually left the company a year later.
"Those who worked at a company, I feel, want to share their experiences with others. Work is such an integral part of our lives, and it's something that workers would want to do for others," says Moses. Moses hopes that Peekface.com would bring freedom to workers who want to share their experiences with others. He also hopes that through Peekface.com, companies would recognize the importance of encouraging purposeful work/life experiences to all employees. Moses has spent approximately $1000 to create the website with his friend.
