Author, scholar and athlete Ike Andrews takes readers on a searing psychological thrill ride in his new work of sports fiction, The Touch of Life.
Clarkston, WA (PRWeb) March 3, 2007 -- Author Ike Andrews uses his vast and intense experiences on the rugby field to put readers into the mind and the heart of an athlete in his new book, The Touch of Life.
Young and unassuming, college professor Michael Burke could not have imagined the events that would ensue as a result of his decision to join the local rugby club in Grand Locks, Wisconsin. As his dedication and stardom on the field and in the university begin to escalate, Burke finds himself wrestling with the demons of his past and desperately yearning for salvation. Interwoven into this sports fiction thriller is the budding romance between Burke and a young woman who may be able to help the professor find forgiveness.
Packed with action and titillating suspense, The Touch of Life will appeal to all readers seeking an intelligent and complex plot. The unusual mix of action, athletic prowess, romance, humor, and psychology is sure to infiltrate the reader's senses, while also delivering the message that redemption and forgiveness can be found in the most unlikely of places. Written by a lifelong rugby player, this book will be particularly well-received by players and fans of the sport, as well as other serious athletes.
