LunarEYE Settles GPS Patent Infringement Suit With British Petroleum and Independent Witness

LunarEYE, Inc. announced today that it has successfully settled its GPS patent infringement suit brought against Independent Witness (IWI), of Salt Lake City, Utah, and British Petroleum America (BP), Headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Liberty, TX (PRWeb) March 22, 2007 -- LunarEYE, Inc. announced today that it has successfully settled its GPS patent infringement suit brought against Independent Witness (IWI), of Salt Lake City, Utah, and British Petroleum America (BP), Headquartered in Houston, Texas.

In the suit filed in US District Court, Eastern District of Texas at Lufkin, Cause No. 9:05-CV-188 LunarEYE contended that IWI developed and sold GPS-Cellular/Satellite tracking technology to BP and others that infringed LunarEYE's United States Patent number 6484035. Final settlement was reached during the first week of the trial. The exact terms of the settlements are confidential. However, it was disclosed that IWI and BP both agreed to license the LunarEYE '035 patent with such licenses covering both past and future sales. (www.lunareye.com)
