(PRWEB) March 22, 2007 -- Film Director and Writer Robert D. Retort announces five star ratings for "The Fortune Teller" (http://films.thelot.com/films/33558), a short sci-fi animation film entry for Fox's new reality series "On the Lot." The new reality show by Mark Burnett, Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks Television, "On The Lot" (TheLot.com), is giving aspiring filmmakers the opportunity of a lifetime to get a one-million dollar DreamWorks development deal. During the upcoming season, 16 undiscovered filmmakers will produce short films every week in every genre, and the viewers will vote on who gets eliminated. The aspiring filmmakers will air over two nights weekly with a one-hour "Film Premiere" episode on Tuesday, May 22, followed the next night by a half-hour "Box Office" results show.

The competition has not yet begun on Fox's new reality series, but "The Fortune Teller" is off to a great start. "The Fortune Teller" has received five star ratings by the visitors and filmmakers to the site TheLot.com. The science-fiction animation film written and directed by Robert D. Retort portrays the mystic world of fortune telling by capturing the hypnotic mind of Sarga, Queen of the Gypsies to reveal secrets of the unknown in the past, present, and future.

Experienced historical writer Robert D. Retort follows the path of current highly-rated shows like "Medium" and "Ghost Whisper" and movies like "The Illusionist" and "The Prestige." With his short film entry "The Fortune Teller," Retort is sure he has a science fiction hit. Retort believes the first step in the road to success is having content that is relevant to what is popular in cinema and television.

"You can be a successful director and writer," Robert D. Retort states. "It's all a matter of choosing the right film niche, believing in yourself, and getting the right talented people behind you to help achieve your dream."

Robert D. Retort further comments that "the talent On The Lot is just incredible and never in the history of filmmaking has there been such a melting pot of aspiring filmmakers in one location. It's like going to the cinema and viewing 100's of mini movies in categories such as Sci-Fi, Adventure, Thriller, Horror, Animation, Comedy, Drama, Music, Romance, Documentary, Family, Art & Experimental. You can be an instant critic by grading each film you view with up to five stars and make comments that can be viewed by On The Lot film community.
