Ruckus House Learning Center Announces Scholarship Foundation

Scholarships will assist students pursuing an education degree.

Charlotte, N.C. (PRWEB) March 21, 2007 -- Ruckus House Learning Center, a child-care center founded by NFL players Mike Minter, Mike Rucker, Stephen Davis and Muhsin Muhammed, has announced the Ruckus House Scholarship Foundation, dedicated to providing financial assistance to high-school graduates who want to pursue an education degree at an accredited North Carolina university.

“Teachers have a profound impact on our children's lives and are instrumental in their development,” said Carolina Panthers player Mike Minter, co-owner of Ruckus House. “We understand that today's youth will be teaching tomorrow's youth, so we want to make sure they have an opportunity to equip themselves with the right tools.”

The Foundation is awaiting 501(c)(3) status and expects to award its first scholarship in 2008.

The Foundation's first fund-raising effort is April 2 at The Peninsula Yacht Club. Evening highlights will include a dinner, live auction and theater performance from NarroWay Productions. Tickets are $150, and proceeds benefit the Foundation. Call (704) 786-3030 to purchase tickets or for more information. To make a contribution, send a check to the Ruckus House Scholarship Foundation, Inc., at 3430 Trinity Church Road, Concord, N.C. 28027.
