New for the Oil Refining Industry, Construction Engineers and Catalyst Makers from Hart Energy Publishing...Refinery Tracker...with Monthly Updates on Project Status, Approvals, Costs, Refined Product Outputs, Technologies and More

Washington, United States

Refinery Tracker, from Hart Energy Publishing, LP, is now available, incorporating data from its World Refining & Fuels Today newsletter. As the global demand for motor fuels continues to climb, boosted by Asian growth in particular, new crude oil refineries are being planned and built at an unprecedented pace, and capacity is growing at existing refineries. Refinery Tracker monitors the status of these projects in a monthly spreadsheet update sent directly to clients.

At least 166 new oil refinery projects and upgrades in 54 countries on six continents have been tracked in the past year by World Refining & Fuels Today. Refinery Tracker makes them available in one complete, easy-to-use source.

"While refining capacity creeps up in the developed world, the United States and Europe do not offer many prospects for greenfield refineries," said David Givens, newsletter group publisher at Hart Energy. "Most of the growth is in Asia, and even Central and South America look like they will see more new refineries, backed by state-run energy companies with government support."

Peter Haldis, editor of World Refining & Fuels Today, notes that China and India have seven and five new refineries, respectively, in various stages of development, plus expansions of existing refineries. But costs may threaten some projects, such as in Indonesia, where plans announced in 2006 for four new refineries have been delayed.

Refinery Tracker provides current data, by continent, with a project description including location, capacity, projected outputs in refined products, ownership, recent approvals and startup dates.
