Young Bridgton Academy Alumnus Endows Professional Development Fund

Bridgton Academy announced a $25,000 dollar Third Century Fund campaign pledge to create and endow the Andrew F. Staub '04 Professional Development Fund given by Andrew Staub '04 of New York, New York. This faculty stipend was established to enhance the vitality and currency of Bridgton Academy, its faculty, and its programs of instruction. Mr. Staub felt it was important to create an endowment out of his sincere desire to encourage and support the faculty of Bridgton Academy.

North Bridgton, ME (PRWeb) March 11, 2007 -- Bridgton Academy is pleased to announce a $25,000 dollar Third Century Fund campaign pledge to create and endow the Andrew F. Staub '04 Professional Development Fund given by Andrew Staub '04 of New York, New York. This faculty stipend was established to enhance the vitality and currency of Bridgton Academy, its faculty, and its programs of instruction. Mr. Staub felt it was important to create an endowment out of his sincere desire to encourage and support the faculty of Bridgton Academy.

For Andrew, who attended Bridgton Academy in 2004, a caring and dedicated faculty that challenged its students made a significant difference in his preparation for college. Currently, Andrew is successfully pursuing his undergraduate degree and is committed to giving back to the Academy.

Andrew was raised in a family that strongly values the importance of educational philanthropy. His father, Robert Staub, has a history of giving to institutions of higher education, including Lehigh University and Eckerd College, where Mr. Staub created awards for distinguished teaching. The Andrew F. Staub '04 Professional Development Fund will be awarded annually to a teacher who demonstrates consistent excellence in teaching; accessibility to students; exceptional leadership skills; and a reverence for learning. Recipients will be chosen by a special committee that will consider recommendations from both students and faculty.

"My hope is that this fund will provide resources for additional professional development for the dedicated faculty members of Bridgton Academy, further improving the quality of this specialized transitional year.
