Northeast Center for Special Care, announces that Alicia Fredella, RRT, CBIT, Quality Assurance Officer and Risk Manager, has been named the American Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists David L. Strauss Speaker for their May, 2007 Teleconference as a part of it's ongoing education series.

Lake Katrine, NY (PRWeb) March 11, 2007 -- Alicia Fredella, RRT, CBIT, Quality Assurance Officer and Risk Manager, Northeast Center for Special Care has been named the American Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists David L. Strauss Speaker for their May, 2007 Teleconference. This important teleconference is part of a certification and continuing education program facilitated by the Brain Injury Association of America. Brain Injury Trainers from around the United States will call in to be educated by Ms. Fredella on the topic of The ABCs of the Z's: Sleeping with a Brain Injury.

Sleep is vulnerable to disruption due to any condition that affects the brain. Ms. Fredella's presentation explains the pluses and pitfalls of different forms of sleep testing for individuals recovering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Her presentation also describes practical methods individuals with TBI and their caregivers can use to support good sleep hygiene.
