COPAN Systems Welcomes Martin Darling to Head Asia-Pacific Region

Longmont, Colorado, United States and Singapore

COPAN Systems, the leader in persistent data storage based upon its intelligent, enterprise-class enhanced MAID (Massive Array of Idle Disks) platform, has appointed Martin Darling as vice president of Sales for its Asia-Pacific and Japan sales region. With a successful career in the storage and technology industry that spans over 15 years, the addition of Darling strongly supplements COPAN's recent international expansion and push for leadership in the international storage industry.

"We are pleased to welcome an additional skilled storage veteran to our international team," said Garry Veale, senior vice president of International Sales and Services for COPAN Systems. "With Martin's strong storage background and sales and channel executive experience in the Asia-Pacific region, he will help to champion COPAN's expansion efforts by giving us credibility in the culturally rich environment of Asia."

Darling joins COPAN most recently from EMC, where his successful career spanned 9 years. Most recently, he led the EMC Dell Business Sales Unit across all of Asia Pacific and Japan, where he grew the business in excess of 80 percent from the previous year. Prior to that, Darling held key country and regional sales positions including regional sales director for South Asia and country manager positions in Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, where he consistently exceeded revenue targets. In addition, he has held senior positions at Hitachi Data Systems, where he was senior Channel Director of Asia Pacific and Latin Americas for 2 years, and at 3Com and Memorex in Australia and New Zealand. He will report directly to Garry Veale, senior vice president of International Sales and Services.

"I am delighted to be joining COPAN Systems at this time," said Darling. "COPAN's unique MAID solutions fundamentally change the economics of the storage market, offering dramatically new levels of value and differentiation to our customers and partners in the Asia-Pacific region."
