US Heat Wave Drives Automobile Child Safety and Parental Concern for Babies in Hot Car Seats

As temperatures crest 117F in the south west, and well over 100F in much of the country, babies and small children are increasingly subject to burns when they are placed in a hot car and hot car seats. Parents seeking relief turn to a devoted mother of invention for support.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) July 9, 2007 -- With temperatures soaring, Deb Lowe, R.N., founder and President of BabyBeeCool, has been receiving calls from concerned parents in Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Tucson about her product which will protect car seats from the extreme heat. Friday she received a call from a mother who located BabyBeeCool on an emergency Google search for something to protect her 9 month old baby. The Las Vegas mother was upset over an experience the day before when her child was burned on the buckles of the hot car seat. She promised herself to either develop or purchase something to keep this from ever happening again. Luckily, she found protection with the BabyBeeCool product.

Exposure to hot weather could be potentially life-threatening to children. Summer heat can raise temperatures to deadly levels, especially inside of a car. As temperatures soar, parents and caregivers need to take extra precautions when traveling with children. Make sure to check the temperature of the car seat before buckling your children in the car. Skin that touches a car seat surface over 150 degrees Fahrenheit can be severely burned in 1 second.

The start for Deb Lowe at BabyBeeCool was much the same as the mother from Las Vegas. Following the birth of her child in the summer of 2001, Deb too was challenged with protecting her baby from the heat of the Arizona desert. She designed numerous items to keep the car seat cool, and subsequently invented the Car Seat Cooler Pad. Neighbors and friends started asking for the product which at the time she made from home. With parent's word of mouth spreading quickly, Deb required manufacturing to sustain the demand. Today she has her products on-line, in Arizona stores, and is networking to place it in stores across the country and worldwide.
