Real Armor of God's swords and customized shields will help Christian fantasy fiction authors step back through time during the launch of the Fantasy 4 Fiction Tour at Booth #1904 at ICRS. The authors will pose with medieval flair during a scheduled meet and greet on July 9 and photo opportunity on July 10. The tour includes Wayne Thomas Batson, author of The Door Within series (Thomas Nelson); Bryan Davis, author of the Oracles of Fire series (Living Ink); Sharon Hinck, author of the The Sword of Lyric series for women (NavPress), and Christopher Hopper, author of the Lion of Vrie (Tsaba House). After ICRS, the authors and their props will stop for events in 14 east coast cities, July 10-18.
A six-foot Roman solider mannequin, complete with a shield, cape, belt and sandals, will accent the release of a new book on spiritual warfare, titled Dressed To Kill. Rick Renner, a popular author, TV host and pastor of the former Soviet Union's largest church, will use the props donated by Real Armor of God to compliment his detailed research on ancient Roman armor. His book will be promoted during ICRS at Booth #2631.
For John Cooper, president and founder of Real Armor of God.com, using props in evangelism is something of a family legacy. John's father, a retired Christian ophthalmologist, used scripture verses on his reading eye charts. "I am thrilled to be associated with such gifted authors and publishers who are cutting through the darkness with God's word," said Cooper, who lives in Murphy, Texas. He will attend ICRS events and meetings on July 9 only.
Cooper's personal calling to this ministry came after his father-in-law gave him a Roman sword, the case of which was engraved with Hebrews 4:12--"The word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword…" After displaying the sword on the family room wall, Cooper and his wife Carolyn learned quickly that showing the sword to guests naturally segued into a presentation of the gospel.
