'Revitalizing America': Americans Encouraged to Fight Against Political Injustice in New Book

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., July 5, 2007 -- Donald L. Cleveland gives his in-depth view of betrayals and broken promises of the U.S. government and challenges Americans to take action in his book, "Revitalizing America: A Declaration Against Our Government" (now available through AuthorHouse).

In this book, Cleveland describes how the promises of democracy, which are laid out in the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and even the Pledge of Allegiance have been broken. He says that the strong, proud language and driving power behind these documents have created a false "Santa Claus" myth of the U.S. government - a myth that is debunked daily in the real world of politics.

Conflicts of interests arise when money and relationships meet. Cleveland recounts the problems with the Food and Drug Administration and the banking industry's dealing with the loan processes for small businesses and student loans. The concept of government foreclosures on homes due to back-taxes is challenged. "The principle behind such seizures is that the government ultimately owns everything," Cleveland says. Additionally, he explains that individual power binges lead to bribery and corruption at all levels of the government.

The judicial system is also challenged in fairness and effort. "The court system is so horrifying that judges can act without published rules of procedure and totally excuse themselves from the laws governing civil rights abuses even if they act in a corrupt or abusive manner beyond the scope of their duties," Cleveland writes.

Abuse of human and civil rights is addressed in chilling detail, as Cleveland describes how the government spies on its people and exposes poisonous materials to civilians in violation of the Nuremburg Code and the Geneva Convention.

"Americans must now reassert the power of the people," Cleveland says. "No person in the government is above the law, and no institution in government should be allowed to act unfettered between the lines of the Constitution ... It's our duty to remember our country was born through a revolution, and we must revitalize our democracy through a political and economic revolution."

Cleveland earned an undergraduate degree in both political science and journalism and a graduate degree in policy planning and public opinion. He served in numerous public interest capacities and has 13 years of legislative lobbying experience, during which time he wrote more than 400 laws or amendments and three state constitutional amendments. He served as captain in the U.S. Army in Europe during the Cold War. "Revitalizing America" is his first book. For more information, visit http://www.revitalizingamericabook.com.
