Sport Fit Success Driven by Constant Improvement

Heavy investment in fitness equipment and quality personnel keeps health club members happy.

Bowie, MD (PRWeb) January 8, 2007 -- Philosophies vary in the business world, and the fitness industry is no different. How does a facility maximize its utility? How does it best save or invest to improve the bottom line? At Sport Fit, a four-facility company in Suburban Maryland, it's not a question at all. In fact, it's clear to every employee, member and prospect.

The answer is in the constant growth and improvement of facilities. Within each Sport Fit Club there has been growth, reorganization and upgrading of equipment.

For instance, in the last six months the Bowie club has provided 19 new Cybex treadmills for a gain of 7 total (34 total treadmills on the floor). They have purchased 6 new Life Fitness bikes, 2 upright and 4 recumbent (19 bikes on the floor)! In addition, they have added 15 new Life Fitness ellipticals and a SciFit Total Body Machine.

Due to the high cost, fitness facilities debate long and hard before purchasing just a few of the larger pieces of equipment. Sport Fit Bowie alone has added 25 pieces of Hammer Strength to their circuits, 2 each of the 9 Cybex circuit pieces and 4 Cybex VR3 pieces focusing on extension, rotation, abduction and adduction. All of the premium equipment manufacturers seem to be represented as the club also maintains a series of 13 machines by Free Motion and another couple by Life Fitness.

The growth in membership at Sport Fit Clubs has been extraordinary, doubling membership at four clubs combined. The members rarely wonder where their monthly dues are being invested, they see the club improvement and maintenance every time they walk through the club or hit the floor to workout.

Sport Fit CEO, Bob Seaman, remarks that "although the Sport Fit Bowie club is the largest and has the most obvious changes, keep an eye on our three other clubs for more improvements and upgrades!"

Suffice it to say, the investment philosophy seems to be "invest in the members and provide a quality experience and they will multiply". Any area of investment that leads to greater revenue is considered, leaving those clubs with a purely spendthrift philosophy "in the dust".
