Wireless Cities Summit Commences this Month

Wireless has become as much a public utility as water and electricity for hundreds of cities and municipalities in North America. This exclusive event will demonstrate best practices from across the globe and help municipalities develop wireless networks suitable for local needs.

Toronto, ON (PRWeb) January 7, 2007 -- Enhancing and ensuring best practices for the creation, deployment and maintenance of wireless infrastructures, will be the focus of Strategy Institute's Wireless Cities Summit for Municipalities, Communities, Public Facilities and Universities, commencing Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 255 Front Street West, Toronto.

Among the guest speakers to be in attendance include Mark VanderHeyden, Vice President, Carrier Networks, Siemens Canada Limited, Mike Dixon, VP Wireless Networks, Motorola Canada Ltd., Sharyn Gravelle, Vice-President, Wireless, Toronto Hydro Telecom and Dana Spiegel, Executive Director, NYCWireless (New York).

A number of issues to be addressed include the next generation of wireless technologies; public private partnerships -- a model for delivering wireless infrastructure; and, solutions to technical, logistical and economic challenges for effective deployment of wireless networks.

The Wireless Cities Summit is produced by Strategy Institute, an independent North American, research-based organization that monitors and communicates changes to government and industry leaders.
