With the federal government and business organizations looking closely at Personal Health Records (PHR), consumers may soon be empowered with their own PHR. This fall, [2006 Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.) introduced a bill providing physicians a $2 incentive for each patient for whom they create a PHR.
Business groups have also called for the increased use of technology and PHRs, which according to the Institute of Medicine and the Institute of Healthcare Improvement, could foster a "culture of safety" on the path to reducing the mortality rate by 25 percent per year by 2010.

The information carried on Angel is not part of a global network of databases of pharmaceutical insurance or other companies with medical affiliations. It is not shared with clinics, HMOs, hospitals, banks or employers, which puts the individual in charge of their information. Angel is for the consumer to use to fulfill their own healthcare needs.
