Interactive Displays Connect Congregation to Missions

The Global and Local Ministries interactive displays connect the congregation at Westover Church in Greensboro, North Carolina to a host of ministry projects being conducted by the church around the world, as well as in their own backyard.

Greensboro, NC (PRWeb) January 30, 2007 -- At Westover Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, three years of dreams, planning and production have culminated in the creation of two high-tech interactive displays that are the communication centerpieces of the church's global and local ministry activities.

The Global and Local Ministries interactive displays connect the congregation at Westover to a host of ministry projects being conducted by the church around the world, as well as in their own backyard.

"The displays are a dream come true," says Lynn Everswick, Westover's Pastor for Global Ministries. "We had an idea for an interactive, rather than static, wall where church members could meet, study, learn and get involved in the various missions projects. We needed a connection point."

The interactive displays are the result of a partnership between Westover and CorpComm Group, Inc. of Lima, Ohio, who designed and produced the displays. CorpComm Group is a corporate marketing and communications firm specializing in Web development and management, video and multimedia production, and graphic design services. Tim Stuckey, president of CorpComm Group, and a missions enthusiast, was thrilled to be part of the project.

"The creation and production of the interactive displays was the ideal project for CorpComm because it was an opportunity to utilize all of our services in a new way. We were able to use our knowledge of Web technology, design and multimedia programming to develop an exciting concept that will be a source of information and inspiration to the church congregation for years to come."

Located in a large commons area just outside of Westover's Main Worship Center, the Global Ministries display supports eye-catching graphics displaying information on missionaries and upcoming short term trips, testimonials, and event calendars. Four interactive touch screen computer terminals provide a variety of on-line, video and multimedia information. The interactive capabilities give church members immediate and direct access to detailed information about ministry projects, as well as direct communications with missionaries around the world.

The Global Ministries display has four distinct areas including Global Vision, Short Term Trips, The Global Family, and Events and Activities. Visitors can print out mission trip applications, read newsletters from the various missionaries, view missionary videos, and register for events and classes.

The second display showcases Westover's Local Ministries. Here the congregation can be informed and stay connected with Westover's many community ministries, as well as learn how to get involved themselves. A group of church volunteers frequently update the displays with new photographs, news stories, videos, and graphics to keep the congregation coming back for more.
