Mohapatra and his team, in a uniquely extravagant way, create many pieces from which the final looks for the runway are selected. "Neither Gilles nor Bibhu is shy about cutting a look that might have required many hundreds of hours to create in order to maintain the look and the context envisioned for the core of the collection." After seven years with the label, Bibhu still relies on the savvy eye of Gilles Mendel for conceptual guidance, but has complete freedom to create from his sole and follow his instincts. Bibhu has just completed one of his first solo projects, an enchanting, understated yet wildly luxurious wedding gown for Allison Beard, a Saddle Bred equestrian World Champion. The wedding will be in Tampa on March 17th this year.
