(Sustainable Community Development) announces the addition of Doug Lee as Chief Operating Officer and Dr. Sivaram Pillai as Director Business Development to its executive team.Doug joined SCD in November 2006. Doug has a broad business and government background, with specialization in start-up companies, marketing, public and media relations. Most recently, Doug was the Executive Director of the non-profit Louisiana Technology Park since 2001, focused on providing resources and infrastructure to grow early-stage e-commerce, biotech and high technology companies. Prior to that, Doug started and operated several successful businesses. He served in the administrations of Presidents Nixon and the Ford White House, as well as serving as the chairman of the nation's largest nuclear energy citizens lobby group for 12 years. Doug is a graduate of McNeese State University.
Dr. Pillai joined SCD in January 2007. Sivaram has significant operational, sales and marketing experience in biotechnology products globally. Sivaram was formerly with E.I.D. Parry Ltd in India, serving as Vice President for the BioProducts Division since 2001 and then as Chief Executive for the BioProducts Business in 2006. His experience includes profit and loss responsibility, creating and implementing strategic alliances, and marketing bioproducts worldwide. Sivaram previously served as a consultant to firms seeking to establish or turn around operations in various international markets. Sivaram also held various management roles for Scientific Instrument Company and E.I. D. Parry. Dr. Pillai received his undergraduate degree at University of Poona, India and earned a Master's degree and PhD from the University of Madras, India.
