IAOP Debuts Outsourcing Online Training and Professional Certification Exam

Web-based master class launches.

Lagrangeville, NY (PRWeb) January 24, 2007 -- The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) has partnered with the University College of Syracuse University to launch an online version of the Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP) Master Class and develop a new certification examination for the outsourcing industry.

The COP certification recognizes and differentiates qualified and experienced professionals who are outsourcing leaders. The new additions will make the certification even more accessible and valuable to outsourcing professionals and their organizations.

The COP Master Class is a four-day intensive program covering the entire Outsourcing Professional Body of Knowledge (OPBOK) that enables those who successfully complete it to earn half of the 150 points needed towards certification. The other half of the points are earned through experience and knowledge.

"We quickly realized that the demand for an online version of our popular Master Class was so great that we had to develop it right away," said IAOP Executive Director Christina Powers.

The online version of the class will mirror the classroom version in several ways, including in-depth learning of the OPBOK delivered using multi-media techniques, as well as support from the lead teacher and IAOP mentors.

"Joining forces with University College of Syracuse University really strengthens our COP program," said Michael Corbett, IAOP Chairman. "Syracuse University understands the strong and growing impact that outsourcing will have on today's and tomorrow's organizations."

Syracuse University has developed an online format for the COP Master Class so that classes can be delivered anytime, anywhere in the world.

"IAOP is a quality organization with professionals throughout the world who are setting the standard for effective outsourcing practice," said Jim Shea, Director of the Outsourcing Professional Institute at the University.

IAOP and Syracuse University also developed an exam to be used as an alternative way for prospective COPs to demonstrate that they have the experience and knowledge required to earn the certification. It will be available starting in February 2007.
