PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - Jan. 23, 2007 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- John W. Merkle, AIA and William H. Soupcoff, AIA of TMS Architects are pleased to announce that two of the firm's project architects, Shannon C. Alther, AIA and Robert J. Carty, AIA have been made partners in the 23-year-old firm.

Shannon has been a member of the firm since 1996 when he joined the staff as a draftsman. In the intervening years, he has received his Master Degree in Architecture from the Boston Architectural Center and was accredited by the American Institute of Architects in 2006. He served a project manager for the restoration of the Wentworth By The Sea Hotel and is currently involved in a number of challenging projects, including another major hotel restoration in York Beach, Maine. Shannon lives in Hampton, NH with his wife, Susan Wilbur and their daughter Susannah.

Rob joined TMS Architects in 2003 and had worked previously with firms in Newton Centre, MA and Denver, CO before relocating to the Seacoast. Rob received his Masters Degree in Architecture from the University of Colorado at Denver and was also accredited by the American Institute of Architects in 2006. He is currently in the process of completing his LEED Certification (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) which will continue TMS's leadership in environmentally-sensitive design. Rob resides in Exeter with his wife Polly and their daughter Erin.

The entire TMS Staff welcomes Shannon and Rob in their new capacity as partners in the firm and are excited about future possibilities with these two talented architects involved in the firm's management and direction.
