VideoCentric First to Sell New Sony High Definition Camera, the EVI-HD1, in UK

VideoCentric announced today that it has already tested the new High Definition EVI HD1 camera with 720P and 1080P resolution monitors and will be selling it along with its wide range of video conferencing, streaming and surveillance cameras as soon as stocks arrive in the UK later in the month.

London, UK (PRWeb) January 21, 2007 -- VideoCentric announced today that it has already tested the new EVI HD1 camera with 720P and 1080P resolution monitors and will be selling it along with its wide range of video conferencing, streaming and surveillance cameras as soon as stocks arrive in the UK later in the month.

VideoCentric's key markets for videoconferencing include distance learning, healthcare, corporate training, police and court applications, but increasingly high performance cameras are being used in churches, auction rooms, clubs and manufacturing sites, where the broadcast and recording of quality moving images over LAN and Internet networks is becoming commonplace.

The HD1 is a single chip CMOS-based PTZ camera featuring multi-format capabilities to output both standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) video. The EVI-HDI camera has multiple outputs and so is compatible with most codecs on the market. It also supports 1080i resolution and outputs 16:9 images in 480i or HD formats. The unit incorporates a 10x optical zoom lens with a 70-degree horizontal field of view and is equipped with quiet, high-speed direct drive motors.

David Shimell, Sales Director for the Company said "Like other Sony cameras supported by VideoCentric, eg EVI-D70, D70W, D100 and D31, the camera's pan, tilt & zoom controls can be operated by the IR Remote Controller supplied, or externally from a PC via the RS-232C interface (using VISCA protocol and multi-length cables available from VideoCentric). VideoCentric is an authorized Sony integrator and reseller, offering rapid delivery, a wide range of brackets and USB adapters with attractive discounts for volume and trade."
