Nourison Takes Pure Wool Wall-To-Wall to the Sidewalks of New

Nourison, the world's largest manufacturer of area rugs and premium broadloom carpeting, introduced new, eco-friendly pure wool wall-to-wall carpeting priced comparably to some synthetics. The event, complete with live sheep to make a point, took place on January 9th at the W Hotel in New York City.

(PRWeb) January 14, 2007 -- It's not everyday that live sheep are on Park Avenue. But to call attention to a new line of wool broadloom carpeting, one rug company rolled out the red carpet. Nourison, the world's largest manufacturer of area rugs and a leading producer of premium-quality broadloom carpeting, held a press reception complete with four sheep in front of New York's W Hotel on Park Avenue recently.

The event was to introduce Nourison's luxurious and environmentally friendly pure wool broadloom, priced comparably to some synthetics. Suggested retail prices range from $35 to $95 a square yard for its wool and wool blend broadloom -- the same price as many synthetics.
Unlike traditional wall-to-wall carpeting, usually manufactured from petroleum-based products such as nylon or polypropylene, wool broadloom from Nourison is made from natural fibers. Similar to the difference between a cashmere and acrylic sweater, pure wool broadloom feels and wears better than its synthetic counterparts.

It also acquires a unique patina over time, retains dye better, and wears more evenly underfoot.

At the press event, the company also introduced selected area rugs from its brand new Liz Claiborne Home and Calvin Klein collections.

>From signature handmade collections to prestige designer lines, Nourison, based in Saddle Brook, NJ, supplies more than 100 distinctive collections to prominent retailers and design houses throughout the world. For more information, visit www.nourison.com.
