The judges, a group of nationally renowned architects, admire the Crested Butte for its well thought out design and spaciousness. According to Danny Eagan, one of the contest judges, "one can easily access all parts of the house. In addition, there's ample use of overlapping space to make the home feel larger than it is. Everything flows together and adds to the spaciousness of the whole plan." Bob Brotherton, another contest judge, noted that the Crested Butte is "a great floor plan for both living and entertaining guests.
