The Scooter Store Says Farewell to President Mike Pfister

Pfister's leadership contributions paved the way for a successful future for leading mobility equipment provider.

New Braunfels, TX (PRWeb) January 10, 2007 -- Mike Pfister, President of The SCOOTER Store, is departing to become Chief Information Officer for Halliburton. We are deeply saddened by Mike's departure, but this is a fantastic opportunity for him and his family. He will be returning to the Houston area, where his family has many relatives and friends. Halliburton is getting a great leader for their world-wide information technology operation and someone with outstanding character, wisdom and integrity. He will be missed by The SCOOTER Store.

When Mike joined The SCOOTER Store in 2003, the power mobility industry faced serious challenges from impending regulatory changes. In the ensuing months, he helped lead The SCOOTER Store, and the industry, through substantial changes in documentation, coding, coverage and pricing policies. Largely because of Mike's leadership, The SCOOTER Store, as well as the industry, has survived these many changes and are poised for success in the future.

One of Mike's biggest contributions was never letting us lose our compass - he kept our team focused on the fact that the Medicare beneficiary came first and foremost and that it was our responsibility as the largest supplier of mobility equipment - power wheelchairs and scooters - in America to ensure that people living with disabilities continued to have access to a mobility benefit that could improve their quality of life.

Under his leadership, The SCOOTER Store alone improved mobility for more than 95,000 people living with physical impairments. That is a job well done.

The SCOOTER Store wishes Mike, his wife Dianne, and the entire Pfister family the best the future can bring.
