Momentive Performance Materials today introduced Tospearl* 150KA silicone microspheres with a proprietary, spiky surface that can help the delivery of enhanced soft focus benefits in skin care and color cosmetic products. In addition, Tospearl 150KA microspheres continue to display the outstanding lubricity and buttery feel that is characteristic of Momentive's Tospearl technology. The INCI name for the new product is Polymethylsilsesquioxane.
Tospearl 150KA microfine spherical silicone resin particles have a three-dimensional network structure. The spikes on the surface cause increased scattering of light that significantly enhances the line blurring and soft focus properties already displayed by Tospearl technology. The main performance benefits of this product, i.e., outstanding lubricity and exceptional line blurring, make it an excellent candidate to consider for the formulation of skin care products, foundations, lipsticks and sunscreens.
