Robare Custom Homes Commits to Improve Residential Fire Safety in San Antonio by Including Permanent Escape Ladders in All New Homes

Top San Antonio-based homebuilder now installing the PEARL escape ladder in all new homes on the heels of a tragic house fire that killed former Texas State Senator and San Antonio native Frank Madla at the end of last year. Robare Custom Homes is the first homebuilder in San Antonio to offer permanent escape ladders as a standard feature in new homes.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 19, 2007 -- PEARL Protected®, creators of the patented Permanent Escape And Rescue Ladder (PEARL®) for two and three-story homes, today announced that San Antonio-based Robare Custom Homes is now installing the PEARL escape ladder in all new homes. The company's decision comes on the heels of a tragic house fire that killed former Texas State Senator and San Antonio native Frank Madla at the end of last year. Robare Custom Homes is the first homebuilder in San Antonio to offer permanent escape ladders as a standard feature in new homes.

"This tragedy made me rethink what I needed to do to protect my own family from fire. As soon as I saw PEARL, I knew I wanted it in my kids' upstairs bedrooms. And, as a homebuilder, I feel obligated to provide the same level of fire safety in the homes we build," said Mike Robare, president of Robare Custom Homes.

Robare Custom Homes will introduce PEARL in its Rockwall Ranch neighborhood in northeast San Antonio. Every two story home will include one PEARL ladder in a centrally-located upstairs bedroom, with the option for homebuyers to install additional ladders at a minimal cost. Rockwall Ranch is a sprawling luxury residential community of secluded homes located on 1200 acres in Texas's rolling hill country.

A study recently conducted by the National Fire Protection Association uncovered that nearly 75 percent of the nation's fire departments still do not have enough fire stations, or the firefighters to staff them, to achieve the widely recognized response-time guidelines. In effect, it is extremely critical for residents to have a safe and readily-available alternative means of escape from upstairs rooms in case fire rescue personnel are not able to arrive on the scene in time.

The PEARL escape ladder meets these requirements. Because PEARL can be permanently installed into the interior wall space below second and third-story windows, homeowners have peace of mind knowing they have an easy-to-use means of escape right where they need it, when they need it.

Since its October 2005 debut, PEARL has become one of the most recognized home safety products in the marketplace. PEARL received the 2006 Product Innovation Award from the Home Safety Council as well as several other building product awards. PEARL has also been featured in two different episodes of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and has been showcased on NBC's "Today" and CBS's "The Early Show."
