Internet Gambling 'Outcry' Campaign to Repeal the UIGEA

Internet Gambling 'Outcry' Campaign to Repeal the UIGEA

The Internet gambling community has a chance to express their abhorrence of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act by joining Casino Gambling Web's 'Outcry' phone calling campaign that is intended to express strong dissent against last year's deceitfully passed bill.

(PRWeb) April 13, 2007 -- Congressman Barney Frank has said he will strongly support a repeal of what he calls 'the stupidest law' in the history of the United States if the public outcry for a repeal is loud enough. In lieu of that statement, and on behalf of the Internet gambling community, a campaign by Casino Gambling Web, named the 'Public Outcry Campaign', has been created.

The 'Outcry' campaign intends to send a message to congress that says the public is vehemently opposed to the new US Internet gambling ban, which was deceitfully passed as the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, (aka the UIGEA), in the closing moments of last year's senate sessions.

All those who would like to join the 'Outcry' phone calling campaign and oppose the 21st century form of prohibition are being advised to visit this page, which lists all the current congressmen of the United States House of Representatives. The representatives are listed by state and phone numbers and other contact information can be found by simply clicking on a congress person's name.

People are being advised to call their state representative and simply state their name, or not, and tell whomever answers the phone that they would like to express their opposition against the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. Callers should express that they would like their representative to understand the concerns of the people whom have lost one of their freedoms and they should express how they support the 'Outcry' campaign that wishes to restore American freedom by repealing the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

The campaign is starting today, although congress people will not be back at work until the 16th. Leaving a message with a congress person's staff member is advised and calling every day is recommended. The congressmen and women will be back to work on Monday and that is when the majority of calls should begin. Each call should not take any longer than 2 minutes and the more calls that go out the louder the 'outcry' will sound.

The Poker Player Alliance, online casinos, sportsbooks, poker rooms across the world, Internet gambling news reporting agencies, Internet gambling portals, gambling forums and other general sites who simply believe in the cause are requested to express support for the Casino Gambling Web 'Outcry' phone calling campaign. Support can be given by posting a link to the government site where representative phone numbers are listed, or by starting individual petitions, or by starting email campaigns to get the word out about the Casino Gambling Web 'Outcry' efforts.

About the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act
The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, aka UIGEA, makes it illegal for banking facilities to accept money transfers to and from online gambling sites. The law was attached to an unrelated Port Security Bill by former Senator Bill Frist in the closing moments of last year's senate sessions. The bill was attached without the knowledge of anyone in congress. There were no opportunities for the law to be amended or debated due to the late timing of the attachment. The Safe Port Act was considered a 'must pass' bill before senate sessions closed, so the bill passed almost unanimously and legit, Internet gambling companies that are publicly traded on the UK stock exchanges, lost billions of annual dollars and some even went bankrupt. Last week the WTO ruled the UIGEA to be illegal and gave the USA a time period where they must comply with the ruling or else have sanctions put on them. Barney Frank has called the law the 'stupidest' in the history of the United States and promises a strong repeal bill if the public outcry for one is loud enough.
