Telecommunications Veteran Mark Ritter Joins Core180

Move Bolsters Core180 and Arrowhead Global Solutions Partnership to Ensure Success of Multi-Year Initiative for U.S. Military

New York, NY (PRWeb) April 10, 2007 -- Mark Ritter, former Vice President, Telecom Solutions for Arrowhead Global Solutions in Fairfax, VA, has joined New York-based Core180, Inc., a leading network integration firm, as Vice President, DATS Services.

Last October, Core180 helped Arrowhead to win part of a $3 billion connectivity assignment for the U.S. Defense Information Systems Network (DISN). Now Ritter has been selected to spearhead the project, referred to as DATS, or the DISN Access Transport Service. He will be responsible for all aspects of the effort, from P/L, order and carrier management to overseeing all vendors and service delivery.

Under Ritter's leadership, Core180 and Arrowhead will cover DATS design and implementation in two regions of the U.S. -- the Northeast and Southeast. Qwest Government Services, Inc. and AT&T Corp. will share the government assignment, covering other regions.

Countrywide, DATS will provide leased-access transmission services connecting some 1,000 military bases, posts and camps - upgrading voice, data and video systems and incorporating emerging technologies. The part of the project Ritter will manage accounts for some 50 percent of the network.

An Integral Leader
"Mark helped synergize the strengths of Core180 and Arrowhead to create a truly innovative proposal," said Core180 CEO David Baule. "While he approached the military as an Arrowhead leader, once the project was awarded, we realized that Mark's participation in the design and implementation phases would be integral to the success of the project. He is a welcome addition to our team."

Ritter is just as enthusiastic about his new role. "I am really looking forward to leading the DATS effort and marshaling the talents of a very skilled and experienced group of professionals at both Core180 and Arrowhead," Ritter said. "Ultimately, we want to make sure that this project yields an unparalleled communications network for the U.S. military."

At Arrowhead, Ritter was responsible for all terrestrial and wireless programs and services, including the design, implementation and management of fiber networks, military satellite networks and other services. Prior to Arrowhead, Ritter held senior leadership positions at XO Communications, Advanced Telcom Group, Brooks Fiber Properties, MCI Communications and NEC America.
