Aurora Enterprises CEO Leads Washington, D.C. Delegation

Aurora Enteprises CEO Philip de Souza is in Washington DC meeting with legislators on a variety of issues critical to the southern California business community.

Los Angeles, Calif. (PRWeb) April 1, 2007 -- Philip de Souza, CEO of Aurora Enterprises, a leading IT company specializing in state-of-the-art security and compliance solutions, will lead a delegation from the Torrance, California Chamber of Commerce to Washington, DC. de Souza was elected Chairman of the Board of the Torrance Chamber in July of 2006.

"I'm proud to be representing Aurora Enterprises and the Torrance Chamber, and to be part of a delegation that is comprised of a who's who of the Los Angeles business community," said de Souza.

The 200-member delegation, which departs for the nation's capital on March 26, includes Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, several other mayors of L.A. county cities, and prominent business leaders. Their itinerary includes meetings with California Senator Dianne Feinstein and
Representatives Jane Harmon and Hilda Solis.

"Part of the Chamber's mandate is to represent its members on pro-business issues, and provide access to local, state and federal government representatives," said de Souza, who will serve on the energy and environment team. De Souza will lobby for Federal awareness and funding for a "Green Business" initiative, revitalizing the Los Angeles River and supporting cleaner ports. He will also take part in discussions concerning other issues facing Los Angeles County, including traffic, education, workforce development, housing, public safety and homeland security.

The future of health care is a particular concern. "Health care has become a serious problem in Los Angeles. The closing of major hospitals has put added pressures on our health care infrastructure. Some of Aurora's key clients are in the health care business, so this is something that I will be certain to address during our time with the state's elected officials."
