Philip Morris International Announces Framework License Agreement with Altadis for Asia

Lausanne, Switzerland

Philip Morris International (PMI) and Altadis has announced that they entered into a strategic alliance which establishes a framework for long-term license agreements to manufacture, distribute and market Altadis' Gauloises and Gitanes brands in select Asian countries.

"This framework agreement between PMI and Altadis will benefit both companies, allowing PMI to add Gauloises and Gitanes to the portfolio it offers consumers and expanding the global reach of Altadis key brands through PMI's extensive manufacturing, marketing, and distribution infrastructure in Asia," said Andre Calantzopoulos, President and CEO of PMI.

PMI looks forward to working with Altadis to develop Gauloises and Gitanes. PMI does not anticipate that the agreement will have a material impact on its immediate financial results.
