SparkNet Communications L.P., owner of the JACK-FM(R) radio brand, is taking JACK-FM international.
Ofcom, the UK's independent communications regulator, recently announced that Absolute Radio International (ARI), who launched their bid with the JACK-FM format, successfully won the new FM radio license for Oxford and the surrounding South Oxfordshire area.
While already a huge success in North America, JACK's UK invasion is the first step in its international expansion to bring the innovative and effervescent JACK brand and its Playing What We Want(R) attitude to markets around the globe.
As in North America, JACK-FM will be programmed locally and will bring its unique musical variety and irreverent attitude to listeners across the pond.
The Oxford UK station is expected to launch by March 2007.
In related news, SparkNet is pleased to announce that Ken Benson will be spearheading JACK-FM's worldwide expansion. Ken will serve as the International License Administrator for the JACK brand outside of North America.
