Radio Show to Host Skin Cancer Education Telecourse Program

PROVO, Utah (PRWEB) May 8, 2006 -- The Cancer Crusaders Organization and
Grapevine Radio will introduce the "Only Skin Deep?"® Peer Educator's
Program to the world via Internet radio beginning May 26, 2006 to
commemorate national Skin Cancer Awareness month.

"The curriculum was originally created to be a college course through
Utah Valley State College," said Danielle White, co-founder of The
Cancer Crusaders Organization and host of the Conversations with Cancer
show. "Although we will still teach it as a college course, we realized
that there are many people who wouldn't be able to make it to the campus
so we are going to utilize the Grapevine Radio Network to bring this
unique, innovative curriculum to anyone who is interested."

Those who would like to actively participate in the course can purchase
the workbook and supplementary tools through The Cancer Crusader
Organization. Listeners can hear the show live on Fridays at 1 p.m. MST
(3 p.m. EST) or on repeat airing at the same time will receive
certification as peer educators on skin cancer.

"We are extremely excited about the potential of this [program," White
said. "The opportunity to provide everyone, everywhere with access to
personalized and interactive skin cancer education is truly phenomenal.
Those who complete the course will be put on our speakers' bureau of
peer educators and will have everything they need to increase education
about this disease that is so preventable, and will help us reach more
people that we might not have otherwise."

The copyrighted three-part curriculum covers basics about skin care,
skin cancer prevention, and environmental health. White initially
created the curriculum as her senior thesis project while at Utah Valley
State College. Credible dermatologists reviewed each part of the
curriculum and approved it in October 2005. White is also approved by
the Utah State Department of Health as a cancer educator, and is an
inducted member of the National Coalition for Sun Safety as part of the
American Academy of Dermatology.

The Cancer Crusaders Organization has received national recognition from
the American Academy of Dermatology when they were awarded the
prestigious Gold Triangle Award in 2005. White started the organization
with good friend Natalie Camille Johnson, creator of the National Skin
Cancer Awareness Symbol ©, on January 1, 2004.

The Conversations with Cancer show began broadcasting on the Grapevine
Radio Network July 22, 2005, and is the second most popular show on the
network. The show features leading experts from the field of
dermatology, including skin cancer survivors. The show runs live every
Friday @ 1:00 PM (MST) for 50 minutes on www.grapevineradio.com.
Conversations with Cancer reaches 19-million listeners across the globe
every week. To register for the program, please contact Danielle White.
