NewspaperARCHIVE.com Unveils New Look

(PRWEB) May 8, 2006 -- NewspaperARCHIVE.com, the largest newspaper
database available online, unveiled a new look to its homepage this
week, marking the first of many changes to improve the design and
usability of the archive. The new homepage, which features a more
streamlined look with a user-friendly interface, is being introduced as
NewspaperARCHIVE.com increases its digital production capacity, which
will allow for the addition of 2.5 million newspaper pages every month.
The new production levels will result in approximately one page added to
the database every second.

"We're adding newspapers pages faster than our users can search for
them," said Jeff Kiley, General Manager of NewspaperARCHIVE.com. "We are
also continuing to explore ways to increase the amount of new content we
can add to the archive every month. The increase in production and newly
defined corporate brand are just the tip of the iceberg; the future is
very exciting for our subscribers."

Future plans for NewspaperARCHIVE.com include additional features such
as user forums and new tools that will help users in their quest for
historic information. Current user tools, such as "Advanced Search" and
"Browse Available Papers" will be revised and re-structured to make
searching and browsing more intuitive. Additional functionality will
also be added to these tools, allowing users to easily find more
specific information.

"In the coming months, NewspaperARCHIVE.com will continue to transform,"
said Leslie Fredericks-Leamon, graphic designer for
NewspaperARCHIVE.com. "By bringing out our brand theme, as previously
seen on our free specialized content archives, such as the Titanic
Archive, we have declared ourselves as a valuable resource in many ways
-- one that is recognizable and holds a superb reputation."

Along with the upgrades, NewspaperARCHIVE.com is adding more content
than ever before. During the last month, NewspaperARCHIVE.com increased
production by 500 percent, so 2.5 million newspaper pages will continue
to be added each month.

"For the next several months, we will be uploading more than 80,000 new
newspaper images a day," said Greg Hollingsworth, researcher for
NewspaperARCHIVE.com. "We hope to double that before the end of the
year. With this much content being added to archive, there's always a
reason to come back to look for something new."

NewspaperARCHIVE.com began in 1999 and is owned by Heritage Microfilm of
Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
