announced today it has released a major update to the software of its
email archiving appliance for small to midsized businesses (SMBs).
Software features added are in direct response to meeting customer needs
since the initial release of the ComplianceVault06™ in September 2005.
The version 2.1 upgrade is now available to all 2.0 customers from the
"Software Updates" section of the Web interface of their
ComplianceVault06™ appliance, and is available for immediate download by
these customers.
The ComplianceVault06™ is an integrated hardware/software, plug-and-play
network appliance that captures all of a company's email on a continuous
basis, from a virtually unlimited number of email boxes. Originally
introduced by Intradyn in June 2004, the device stores email on both
hard disk and tape - including unalterable "WORM" (write once, read
many) tape media, either internally or via an external tape library. The
appliance allows companies to meet a variety of email retention needs,
whether related to regulatory compliance (SEC 17a-3 and 17a-4, NASD
3110, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, etc), or simply for good business
practice in electronic records management - as relates the requirements
of the Sarbanes Oxley Act, for example. The ComplianceVault™ also allows
for rapid searching of email and instant messages to vastly improve
responsiveness to litigation discovery requests.
