Playwrights for Pets Presents DUETS: Monday, May 22, 2006

(PRWEB) May 5, 2006 -- In January 2005, Sue Yocum created Playwrights for Pets to produce play readings in support of organizations dedicated to animal welfare. Since then, we have had three readings featuring short plays that share a theme (LADIES' NIGHT, THE MARRYING KIND, FLYING SOLO, etc.).

PFP founder Sue Yocum began her life in the theater as an actress and made the switch to playwright after writing, performing, and directing sketch comedy with Five Card Draw and Out of The Blue. Sue is a member of Charles Maryan's Playwrights/Directors Workshop, which recently produced her play Bite Me as part of an evening of one-act plays at the Neighborhood Playhouse. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sue spent her childhood in Edison, New Jersey. A graduate of Temple University, Sue currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, with her feline companion, Tara.

Playwrights for Pets has put the spotlight on and raised money for Animal Haven, a no-kill shelter in New York City.
We are proud of our dedication to animal welfare and our support of emerging New York City playwrights. Our upcoming event, DUETS, will be interpreted for the deaf (ASL). Copies of New York Dog magazine will be distributed FREE to all audience members. And...wine and soft drinks will be served at a reception following the reading...so please join us for a very entertaining evening!
