Upstage Magazine Announces Wave Gathering Online Preview and Radio Show

ASBURY PARK, NJ (PRWEB) May 4, 2006 -- Upstage Magazine's online preview of the first annual Wave Gathering in Asbury Park, New Jersey is now online at http://www.UpstageMagazine.com/wave. The section provides a comprehensive preview of the two-day music festival, which will take place on May 20-21, 2006. In addition, Upstage is proud to announce a special Wave Gathering preview show, which will broadcast each night on its online radio station, http://UpstageRadio.com.

The Wave Gathering consists of over 70 artists performing across 12 venues spread throughout Asbury Park. The festival will allow music fans to see many of the upcoming artists in the New Jersey music scene as well as catch several top national acts.

"Upstage Magazine believes that the Wave Gathering is an extremely important event for the local music scene as well as Asbury Park itself," says Gary Wien, publisher of Upstage Magazine. "As the city continues its road to revitalization, music will play a major role. Asbury Park is known throughout the world largely because of Bruce Springsteen, but it is equally as synonymous with music itself. This festival will show the world that the music continues as strong as ever!"

The online preview at Upstage Magazine's website was created for both music fans and the performers themselves. The preview contains such things as a festival schedule, list of artists with biography information for each artist, information about the venues, directions to the city, and a list of popular lodging and restaurant options in the area. In addition, the magazine has put together a section to allow festival goers a way to maximum their weekend with information on buzz bands they will want to make sure they catch; a day by day lineup of Upstage chosen acts to let you catch as much music as possible while visiting most of the venues in the festival; a look at several artists who you have two chances to see; and a look at what Upstage considers some of the toughest decisions festival goers will have to make.

"The online preview was designed to make it easy for people to see the depth of the Wave Gathering," explained Wien. "For a first year festival, we think the Wave Gathering crew did an excellent job in providing an incredible lineup of artists. This is an event which should be one of the most popular weekends at the Shore and will be a great kickoff to the summer season!"

Each night at 7pm and 11pm (EST) UpstageRadio.com will take a look at the artists performing at the festival. The special radio show will allow music fans a chance to hear the artists in advance and help them decide where to go during the festival. There will be a different show each night.

"The radio show is a great way to get a feel of the festival before it actually happens," said Wien. "We will be playing music from different artists each night and letting people know where they can see them at the festival. In addition to the radio station, many listeners hang out in the UpstageRadio chat room while listening to the shows. We will be inviting the festival artists to come to the chat room during the show and talk with the listeners. So each night will have both great music and interesting chat conversations."

The Wave Gathering is the result of a partnership between The Asbury Music Company (owners of the Saint, a popular rock club in the city) and All Hour Entertainment. Involving business owners, venues and artists alike, the event marks the first time that the area's best unsigned talent has come together to perform over the course of one weekend, bringing fans and attendees into town to experience all the great restaurants, galleries and local places of interest.

The following venues will be involved with the festival: The Saint, The Stone Pony, The Wonder Bar, Red Fusion, The Deep, Asbury Lanes, The Oakroom @ Berkeley Carteret Hotel, Be Green, The Tides Cafe, The Tiki Bar and Sunset Landing.

"The time is right to usher in a new era of live, original music at the Jersey Shore," said Scott Stamper, owner of The Saint. "We're at the perfect point to expose our rich, musical talent to the national scene. We are inviting everyone to come spend a spring weekend with us and participate in this unique celebration of our heritage and our future. We look forward to seeing everyone supporting our Asbury Park music scene."

The list of artists includes Agency, Alex Brumel, Allie Moss, Amanda Cashman, Andrew Holtz, Anthony Fiumano, April Smith, Arlan Feiles & The Lone Howdies, Avery, Barghetto, Birdie Num Num and the Spirit Squad, Bob Burger, Bobby Strange, Brian Amsterdam, Carl Chesna, Chris Batten & The Woods, Christine Martucci, Cool Days End, Days Awake, Divine Sign, Eric Hemion, Exit 105, Friends Of Bill Wilson, Hamell On Trial, Helena & Maria, Hero Pattern, Hesh, Hilo (featuring Matt Witte), Indus, Jason Stanley, Jeff Austin Black, Jerry Topinka, Jessie Poland, Jody Joseph & The Average Joes, Jody Raffoul, Joe Harvard, Joe Hughes of Goldenseal, John Ginty Band, Jon Caspi, Josh Zuckerman, Joshua Van Ness, Justin Glanville, Karmic Juggernaut, Krista Polvere, Lance Larson & The Wonderband, Lisa Bouchelle, Lori Michaels, Low Flying Jets, Matt O'Ree, Maybe Pete, Meets West, Mieka Pauley, Poco, Predator Dub Assassins, Rachel Zamsteen, Readymade Breakup, Red Lyte District, Rick Barry, Robert Dye & Melissa Chill, Rock Kills Kid, Smiles Again, Spiraling, Stacy Smith, Status Green, Steven Baggs, Steven Delopoulos, Temporary Grace, The Chilling Details, The Churchills, The Commons, The Gay Blades, The Greenroom, The Successful Failures, Transfusion M, Val Emmich, What About Frank?, and Zelda Pinwheel.
